Engineering is the use of scientific principles to design and construct machines, structures and other objects or systems, including bridges, tunnels, roads, vehicles and buildings, as well as intangibles, such as management systems and software.
It can be summarized as the discipline, with a strong technical-scientific connotation, which has as its objective the application of knowledge and results peculiar to the mathematical, physical and natural sciences to produce systems and solutions capable of satisfying the technical and material needs of society through the stages of their design, implementation and management: applying technical standards in this sense, it provides methodologies and specifications for the design, implementation and management of a more or less complex physical good, product or service, and more generally for the development and control of an industrial process with an appropriate system.
